George 111 1808 Scottish Thistle Crown Coin. 

Born George William Frederick on the 4th June 1738 into the Hanover Dynasty. His first spoken language was English unlike his two predecessors whos first language was German. He reigned through two Centuries.  His wars inculded French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars also the American Revolution war. In his later life he became mentaly ill and his Son George (George 1V) pretty much ran the show for him in last ten years of his life where he sadly died in 1820.

George 111 married Charlotte Mecklenburg and was very happily married and took on no mistresses, the King & Queen had 15 children nine sons and six daughters. I can highly recommend a book by Janice Hadlow "The Strangest Family" The private lives of Queen Charlotte and the Hanoverians.
