There is little detail in the Lions faces but this due to the comparatively small size of the coin rather than wear or any die weakness.

This coin features the first type head known as the Bull Head which the King soon changed ashe was displeased with the first head.

Re-Coinage was undertaken in this year at the Royal Mint building at Tower Hill. It had the new technology and equipment of Boulton / Watt.

The last coinage of George 111 1816 -1820 was designed by Pistrucci.
